Blaze Edge: Transforming by RoxyRoo Blaze Edge: Transforming by RoxyRoo
After trying to understand how this gunblade was put together, I gave up and decided to just trace the whole darn thing. I understand pieces of cosplay better once I've drawn them. However, this time I decided to do it digitally. I made another layer and traced above the pictures, then I erased the background leaving me with just he outlines of the weapon. This way, there's no shine or reflections or shadows distracting my brain from concieving it's true shapes and sizes.

This is by far Square Enix's most complex weapon design I've seen. Topping Rosso the Crimons' dual bladed gun, Cloud's ACC sword(s), and I dare say Noctis's new motor sword. Possible to make? yes. SE makes things with functionality in mind, since the have to animate everything. It won't be easy, but this brings me closer to making a functioning, fully articulated transforming Blaze Edge prop weapon.

Yes. I'm ambitious. Good thing i have Lee helping me. o.o; Doing this alone with my meager skills would indeed make it impossible.

ALL FUTURE LIGHTNING COSPLAYERS ARE WELCOME TO DOWNLOAD THESE PICTURES. The images are already 8.2X11 inches, ready to print if you like. Just make sure you erase the bleed border.

I spent a lot of time doing these. Probably a good 10+ hours for all of them combined? I did it over a number of weeks, so it seems like it wasn't as much, but it was. Hence, the watermark. I don't want someone claiming that they were the ones who provided the traces. XP

If you can make this real, I will worship you. I have been wracking my brain on how to do this and concluded that I would have to become an engineer. XD

Since my Lightning cosplay is retired, I never actually made a gunblade. I wracked my brain too, and eventually I gave up because I got too overwhelmed.

What exactly holds onto the sword? I thought it was the thing above her hand.

yeah. There's an "arm" coming from the central pivot that connects to the back end of the blade.

the teeth fold into those extendable arms. I know. It's confusing. You'll figure it out. I have faith in you.

Goodluck.

Oh God!!! This could be helpful... Im planning to make Lightning's sword and wanting to like transform it or so... by just pulling off some parts and foldings... so that I wouldn't be carrying a screw just to dismantle it... Thank you for making this :D
